From Saudi to USA as USRN | Nurse Gladys Shares Her Journey

From Zero Experience to a Successful USRN Job in the USA

Pursuing a USRN job in the United States can feel overwhelming, especially if you don’t have recent bedside experience.

Nurse Gladys’s journey proves that with the right guidance, patience, and determination, Filipino nurses can succeed even against challenging circumstances.

In this exclusive interview, she shares her personal experience with Grandison Nursing, the NCLEX journey, and her step-by-step support toward transitioning from Saudi to USA as USRN.

How Nurse Gladys Found Grandison Nursing

“I found Grandison po… actually, I applied before with another agency, then there were those who sent emails, but I said it doesn’t sound appealing. Then I scrolled on Facebook, and I had a friend before who told me to try it. They said, ‘Go ahead,’ and I’ll inquire at Grandison. So I inquired. I feel at ease knowing that I won’t get into trouble like that. So I said, ‘Okay, I’ll try Grandison’. So that’s it!”

Even without recent bedside experience, Grandison Nursing accepted her for placement and guided her toward nurse visa sponsorship for USRN jobs.

How did you find Grandison

I found Grandison po... actually, I applied before with another agency, then there were those who sent emails, but I said it doesn't sound appealing. Then I scrolled on Facebook, and I had a friend before who told me to try it. They said, 'Go ahead,' and I’ll inquire at Grandison. So I inquired. I feel at ease knowing that I won’t get into trouble like that. So I said, 'Okay, I’ll try Grandison'. So that’s it!

Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast

Why did you Choose Grandison Nursing among other agencies and direct hire companies?

Since I worked abroad, I worked as a dental nurse. So when I inquired at a different agency, they said they don’t want someone without bedside experience. I was accepted by Grandison even when I don’t have a year of recent bedside experience. And then benefits and sign-on bonus... that’s how it is.

What was the biggest challenge in your american dream and how did Grandison Nursing helped you overcome it?

That was the time, in April 2023, when I was officially 'documentarily qualified' (DQ). I was in Saudi Arabia then and I planned to stay for good, but I decided to leave again. At that time, I made my final exit; that’s when retrogression started. That’s what I did—I just applied here in the Philippines so that at least while waiting, I’m working po.

How was your experience with Grandison Nursing employees and the overall process?

I am satisfied because from the very beginning, we were supported step-by-step. And with staff like you Ma’am, you answer all the questions and you always give us updates. I wish your company Ma’am for continuous success, then hopefully you will deploy more nurses. Thank you for your help and trust, Ma’am.

Wha message do you have for other nurses awaiting their deployment to the United States?

My message for my co-nurses is to be patient, keep dreaming, and keep praying. Actually, in 2022, I took the NCLEX for the first time but I failed. I think it was in late 2021 when I applied through an agency in NEAC. They kept on sending me messages, actually, that my eligibility was about to expire. I prayed, 'Lord, if this is for me, I will retake the exam for the last time'. Then after the second take, I passed. Maybe that’s when I learned to be more patient. Don’t rush things and just believe in Him."
